Dr. N.R. Parasuraman took over as the Director of SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) on June 6, 2011. Dr. Parasuraman is associated with SDMIMD for the last 13 years. Dr. NRP, as he is known at SDMIMD, has 29 years of corporate and academic exeprience. He has 28 research papers published in various journals of repute. |
| PGDM 2011-13 Batch Takes Off |
|
The first batch of 180 students of the flagship course PGDM took off on June 6, 2011. The wit-full talk by outgoing director Prof. Ramesh Venkateswaran emphasized on learning rather than the earning the degree. Prof. Prabhakar, Secretary - SDM Education Trust, elaborated on Chairman Dr. Veerendra Heggde’s message to the students and explained the ideals of Dharmastala. The new director Dr. N.R. Parasurman and Dean –Administration Dr. H. Gayathri also spoke on two years of academic life at the campus. Prof. Mihir K. Mahapatra welcomed the gathering and highlighted rigorous admission process that SDMIMD has adopted. Prof. N.R. Govinda Sharma, Chairman - PGDM elucidated the niceties of the program. | SDMIMD ties up with NSE for jointly running the CCMP program |

SDMIMD has entered into an agreement with the National Stock Exchange for launching a joint NCCMP (NSE Certified Capital Market Professional) program. The debut program is open to II year students and involves modules from several Finance courses, particularly Securities Analysis and Derivatives. The program will run concurrently with the II year curriculum. This will enable the students to get a close understanding about the functioning of the capital markets in the country. The students will also be trained separately on the practical aspects of capital markets trading.

Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, President, SDME Trust, Ujire visited the campus on June 8, 2011. The newly inducted PGDM Batch 2011-13 comprising 180 students selected from 22 Indian States, had their finest moments listening to Dr D Veerendra Heggade and interacting with him. Dr Heggade called upon students to uplift human values, be ethical managers and prove to be true Nation builders. |
