The Beacon - Steps Journey Destination. A promotional short film directed by Praveen Sharma and conceptualized by Pooja Mishra, two PGDM Second Year students of SDMIMD. It is a story about the journey of a girl from being a student to a corporate, and brings to light the importance of quality education, cultural environment, and the values imparted, in the making of a successful individual.
AIMS Best Student Paper Award
Swosti Panda, PGDM 2010-12 Batch participated in the 23rd AIMS(Association of Indian Management Schools) Annual Management Education Convention in the "Best Student Paper Award" category on the theme "Emerging Paradigms in Management Education" held at Bhubaneswar, Odhisa on 26-27th August, 2011. It was organized by Regional College of Management (Autonomous), Bhubaneswar. Her research topic was based on one of the sub themes " Ethics, Values and Culture Building in Management Education".She won the first prize which comprised of a gold medal and a merit certificate.

Introductory Talk by Toastmasters
The Toastmasters club at SPI and Infosys were invited to give an introductory talk on Toastmasters to our students on August 16th and 18th. Haris, HR Consultant, SPI, Sujatha Rajpal, PR Head, SPI, Mehboob Srivastava, Area Governor, Infosys, Mohammed Suhail, Immediate Past Area Governor, Infosys and Sameera, our alumni working at SPI, conducted the sessions on both the days.
65th Independence Day Celebration
SDMIMDites celebrated 65th Independence Day in the campus. Director Dr N.R. Parasuraman, hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering comprising faculty members, staff and students. Speaking on the occasion, Dr N.R. Parasuraman said, that one should look into facts and figures of how India has progressed over last 65 years. We must also see how we have scored in various areas to be developed and arrive at what exactly are the current needs. Youth, undoubtedly is the future asset of the nation and we, being in Management area, need to hone their skills and ensure best managers are given to the society. Dr H Gayathri Dean Administration, said discipline and smart work can surely fetch better results.
