| SDMites win First place at IIM-B Event |
|
|
Sumith Jain, Swarup Gattani & Rupesh Gupta second year students won first place in the Event – “Master the Market” , a portfolio management competition Organized By IIM Bangalore as a part of their Annual Fest VISTA-11.
A Event was divided into two phases. After first phase they shortlisted 6 finalists (out of 100+ entries throughout India) to compete on real-time portfolio managing skills. Other finalists consisted of two teams from IIM Indore, one from IIM Shillong and two from NMIMS Mumbai. Final round was about managing a client’s portfolio for 4 continuous quarters on real-time basis. Final results were on the basis of returns generated for the client. |

Competition for Undergraduate students organized by SDMIMD students - Abhigyaan 2011 was held on October 1 and October 2, 2011 at Institute campus. Students of the undergraduate colleges from across the state participated in Abhigyaan 2011. At the end of the two days, the SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore won the Overall Trophy.

| SDMites bring reality to social responsibility |
|
Students of SDMIMD are known for making things different. When it comes to task that are related to social responsibility, they think of poor children studying in government school. For the third consecutive year, Children of KARP Govt. Higher Primary School Body Guard line, Siddharthanagar are the beneficiaries in receiving sports material, stationary and furniture. This year SDMIMD Students have donated Bench cum Desks to 6th standard children of the school. |

| Yakshagana organized by Kala Anubhav |
|
|
Kalaanubhav SDMIMD organized an event of traditional “Yakshagana”, on 6th of September, in the institute’s auditorium. Folklore artists from Nidle Mahaganapathi Yakshagana Mandali led by Shri Ganapathi Bhat performed "Chakravyuha" picked up from Mahabharata, on the stage.It was a mesmerizing performance by the 23 renowned artists and kept the audience engaged for over two hours. The act seemed real with the energy levels depicted by the artists.
The event was blessed by the presence of the guests of honour, Prof. K Balachandra Gowda, Principal SDM MMK, Mysore and Dr. Satish Rai, a patron of arts. The Director of SDMIMD, Dr. N. R. Parasuraman and the faculty members also joined the general public and the students to be a part of the audience.The event concluded with a memento distribution ceremony for all the artists of the Mandali. |

| Onam Celebration at SDMIMD |
SDMites celebrated Onam-the annual harvest festival of Kerala, with high-spirit, gaiety and fervor. The traditional food, games, dance and fun brought energy to the festival. The flower decoration in the corridors added color to SDMIMD campus.
