SDMIMD Alumni Reconnect at Hyderabad Chapter Meet

The Hyderabad Chapter Meet of the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) was held on June 6, 2026, bringing together alumni from diverse graduating batches and professional backgrounds.

A total of 61 alumni participated in the event, reflecting the strong and enduring connection between the Institute and its graduates. Notably, more than 30 attendees represented batches from 2005 to 2020. This a valuable network of industry leaders, recruiters, influencers, and professionals who can contribute to the Institute’s internship and placement initiatives.

The gathering served as an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater and fellow graduates while celebrating their professional achievements. The event highlighted the remarkable journeys of former students who, having once walked the halls of SDMIMD, are now making significant contributions across industries and sectors.

Their accomplishments stand as a testament not only to individual success but also to the values, character, and spirit that continue to define the SDMIMD community, reinforcing the belief that the bond between the Institute and its alumni remains strong long after graduation.

Program Overview

The Research Development (RDP) on “Crafting Impactful Research Papers: Mastering the Art of Publishing in Highly Indexed Journals” is a complete package of strategic ways of research writing and publication in highly indexed journals. The program is designed to enhance the capability of the participants with knowledge of the fundamental skills of research writing and publishing. This is another program of the RDP series.

Brief Profile of the Resource Person: Dr. B.Venkatraja

Dr.Venkatraja, with 20 years of academic and research experience, is working as an Associate Professor of Economics at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) Mysore. Presently, he is the Chairperson of the PhD program at SDMIMD and also serves as Editor of the SDMIMD Journal of Management. Currently, he is a member of the editorial board and review board of several reputed journals. He has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals that are indexed and listed by the Australian Business School Deans’ Council (ABDC) Scopus & Web of Science. He has presented several papers at international conferences. His paper titled “Impact of Central Explicit Subsidies on Fiscal Deficit in India: An Empirical Study” won the Best Paper Award in the Fifth International Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance and Social Sciences organised by J.A. Alpha Business Research, Dubai in 2017. He has also worked on Applied Research projects funded by SDMIMD and Major Projects to Government and Corporate Bodies such as ANSSIRD & PR (Ministry of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka) and Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, BCIC leading to policy suggestions. SDMIMD–BCIC Study Highlights Pathways to Accelerate Net-Zero Transition

SDMIMD, Mysore, in collaboration with Bangalore Chambers of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), Karnataka, undertook the research titled “Multi-Sector Empirical & Bibliometric Study on Advancing Sustainability to Accelerate Net-Zero.” The study was executed by Dr. Sunil M.V., Faculty - Systems and General Management, SDMIMD, and Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Dean - International Relations & Professor - HRM & OB, SDMIMD.

The report was released at the BCIC Conclave on “Advancing Sustainability: Collaboration and Innovation to Accelerate Net-Zero” held in Bengaluru on May 14, 2026.

A central insight emerging from the study is that achieving net-zero goals requires an integrated approach involving technology adoption, collaborative governance, circular economy models, and disciplined management of Scope 3 supply-chain emissions.
