MDP on Creativity, Innovation and Design

SDMIMD organized a MDP on Creativity, Innovation, and Design on the virtual platform on July 14, 2021. The program highlighted the need to develop and nurture creativity, innovation, and design skills in all professional fields. Further, the emphasis of this program was on the persistent attitude required for achieving individual, team, and organizational transformation and excellence. Dr S. Saibaba, Assistant Professor – Marketing, and Dr. (Lt Col) Prasad S.N, Deputy Director & Professor – Strategy and General Management, delivered the sessions.

MDP on HR for Non-HR Managers

An MDP on ‘HR for Non-HR Managers’ was organized on June 11 2021. The faculty resource Dr Mousumi Sengupta and Dr Nilanjan Sengupta, Professor(s) – HR/OB from SDMIMD, focused on the people management issues faced by professionals engaged in administrative roles and non-HR professionals at all levels in day-to-day work-life situations. The program concentrated on people management skills and techniques for the participants. The case studies were used to discuss the issues involved in interactions with people across all levels, irrespective of the nature of our work. Further, the interaction on functions, ranging from leading and motivating staff to appraise their performance, was exciting.

SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) like to present the 2021 edition of Management Development Programs (MDPs). MDP 2021 is focused on changing demands in business and needs of professional executives. Over the years SDMIMD’s MDP is known for its Executive Education offering in different sectors at different levels in an organization.
 
The MDP 2021 will introduce the participants with the latest tools, techniques and skills in Strategic Management, Leadership, HR, OB, Marketing, Finance, Operations Management and General Management.
 
MDP 2021 is designed to meet the needs of the working executives of all levels. The sessions are planned to take the participants from unlearn to relearn to enhancing the learning.

MDP on Communicating Effectively in the Virtual World

Due to the pandemic, a large majority of our communication has moved online. Work from Home has become the norm. Given the circumstances, we need to adapt our communication to digital platforms. Keeping this in mind, a MDP on “Communicating Effectively in the Virtual World” was organized on December 18, 2020 by SDMIMD. Dr. Neetu Ganapathy, Associate Professor-Business Communication and Information Systems, SDMIMD, was the resource person.

MDP on Mastering the Art of Selling

A Management Development Program (MDP) on Mastering the Art of Selling was organized on October 15 & 16, 2020, for the corporate executives. Dr R Sugant, Chairman – Career Services and Professor – Marketing, SDMIMD, was the resource person for the Online MDP. 

MDP on Statistical Methods for Machine Learning

A 2-Day MDP on “Statistical Methods for Machine Learning” was organized on October 8 & 9, 2020. Dr Srilakshminarayana G., Faculty-Quantitative Methods, SDMIMD, was the resource person for the online MDP. The program has provided a Hand’s-on experience to the participants on the application of the statistical methods used in Machine Learning. Case studies and relevant data sets were used to discuss the key Issues associated with each of the methods. On the first day, application of linear regression and logistic regression were discussed and on the second day, application of classification trees and regression trees were discussed. The program was concluded with discussion on discriminant analysis and cluster analysis.

MDP on Team Building and Conflict Management Strategies

The online MDP on Team Building and Conflict Management Strategies was organized on September 25, 2020. The faculty resource Dr. Mousumi Sengputa and Prof. L. Gandhi through interactive mode discussed seven factors for effective team building. Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI); How to avoid bullying; knowing the team members; and learning from the mistakes; have been highlighted in the session. The faculty resource discussed the approaches to team building and its benefits. The program also emphasized the means to understand different types of conflicts in teams and strategies to resolve the same.

MDP on Dimensions of Leadership

One-Day MDP on Dimensions of Leadership delivered by Dr. M.R. Suresh and Dr. S.N. Prasad on September 22, 2020, through online mode. The program is focused on exploring the facets of leadership roles which affect the manager and the leader in terms of strategic thinking and execution. The program replete with leadership examples from all domains from across the world. The program concluded with Q&A session.

MDP on Behavioural Finance

Prof. S. Kannadas was the faculty resource for the One-Day MDP on Behavioural Finance held on September 19, 2020, delivered through online mode. Inaugurating the program, Director of the Institute Dr. N.R. Parasuraman briefed about the behavioural aspects of an individual and an institutional investor. The faculty resource Prof. Kannadas discussed the behavioural and psychological aspects related to financial decisions of an investor. The sessions were more of case-based discussions and the possible solution to reduce the errors which are commonly done by irrational investors.

MDP on Emotional Intelligence for Effective Leadership

MDP on Emotional Intelligence for Effective Leadership was delivered in online mode focused on providing real-life experiential sharing inputs both academic and practical using hands-on exercise on September 11, 2020 by Dr. Mousumi Sengupta and Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta.  The faculty resource discussed both personal and social sides of Emotional intelligence which can effectively enhance capabilities for taking up leadership positions in organizations and becoming more effective in their roles as leaders.
