Interaction with Industry Expert

An interactive session about the journey of an entrepreneur was excellent learning for the PGCM Batch 21-22 on September 27, 2021.  Mr. S.N. Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, Supreme Pharmaceuticals Mysore Pvt Ltd, was invited to share his entrepreneur journey and discuss the company's new initiatives with the batch. The session was part of the PGCM Orientation Program 2021.  

Dharmasthala trip for PGCM 2021-22 Batch

As a part of the PGCM Orientation Program to the PGCM 2021-22 students, a trip to Dharmasthala was organized on September 25 & 26, 2021. Students got the opportunity to see first-hand the numerous social activities in Dharmasthala and interact with the Chairman of SDMIMD and Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, Dr. D Veerendra Heggade. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had a lot of good things to say about the inspiration they received from meeting Dr. Heggade and being in the holy place.

Workshop on Personality Profiling

Workshop on Personality Profiling was organized for the new batch of PGCM program conducted by Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Professor – OB/HR, SDMIMD, on September 24, 2021. The workshop has been organized for the PGCM 2021-22 batch as part of the Orientation Program 2021.

Interactive Session on IST by Dr. R. Indira

Dr. R. Indira, Member of the Governing Body of SDMIMD; Scholar-in-Residence, Centre for Women's Studies, Bangalore University; and Formerly Professor & Chairman, Department of Sociology, University of Mysore, delivered an interactive session on Indian Society in Transition (IST) on September 23, 2021. The talk has been organized for the PGCM 2021-22 batch as part of the PGCM Orientation Program 2021.

Prof.  L Gandhi, Assistant Professor – OB/HR, SDMIMD, conducted a Workshop on Emotional Intelligence for the PGCM 2021-22 batch as part of the orientation program on September 23, 2021. 

Commencement of PGCM 2021-22 Batch

The commencement session of the AICTE recognized One-Year Full-time Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) Program for the Batch 2020-2021 was held on September 22, 2021. Director of SDMIMD Dr. N.R. Parasuraman addressed the students, emphasizing the imperative of students' involvement in academic activities, interaction with guests from industry, and being part of the students’ committees for holistic development to be ready for corporate entry after the program. Dr. Sunil MV, Head – Academic Administration, introduced the annual academic calendar of the program to the new batch. Earlier, Prof. L. Gandhi, Chairperson – Admissions, welcomed the new batch and the gathering.  

Webinar on Ecosystem of Indian Capital Market

A webinar to introduce the 'Ecosystem of Indian Capital Market' to the aspirants of the one-year PGCM in Investment Banking was held on July 23, 2021. SDMIMD hosted the webinar along with the knowledge partner NSE Academy Ltd, Mumbai. The Director of SDMIMD, Dr. N.R. Parasuraman spoke on the current state of the financial markets and the role of investment bankers in capital market operations. Mr.  M Jeyaprakash from  NSE delivered the session on the topic 'Ecosystem of Indian Capital Market' and highlighted the career opportunities for investment banking professionals and the required skillsets for taking up investment banking as a specialization. Dr. M.V. Sunil, Head-Academic Administration, provided the details about the program structure. Prof. Gandhi, Chairperson-Admissions, spoke on the eligibility and admission process for enrolling for the PGCM program. The webinar was coordinated and moderated by Dr. M. Sriram, Associate Professor - Finance, SDMIMD.

A webinar on the launch of PGCM with specialization in Investment Banking was held on 28th June 2021. SDMIMD hosted the webinar along with the knowledge partner 'NSE Academy Ltd, Mumbai'. The Director of SDMIMD, Dr N.R.Parasuraman spoke on the current state of the financial markets and the role of investment bankers in capital market operations. Sri. Abhilash Misra, CEO, NSE Academy, highlighted the career opportunities for investment banking professionals and the required skillsets for taking up investment banking as a specialization. Launch of One-Year PGCM Admissions 2021

The admissions process for the AICTE Approved One-Year Full-time Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) was launched on May 17, 2021, through a Webinar to introduce the program. The PGCM Admissions 2021 was launched by introducing 4 specialization – General Management, Entrepreneurship & Family Business, Investment Banking and Business Analytics – this year. Deputy Director Dr SN Prasad and Mr Sanjay Srinivasmurthy, CEO of Silicon Roads, the partnering organization for the Entrepreneurship & Family Business presented the specialization to the prospective students during the webinar. 

First Annual Convocation of PGCM 2019-20

SDMIMD organized the First Annual Convocation of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved One-Year Full-Time - Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) Program (2020-21 batch) on January 27, 2021, through Virtual Mode.  
 
Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala and Chairman of SDMIMD Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, presided the convocation function. Dr. Heggade awarded the Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) to the 11 students of the AICTE approved batch and honoured the Gold Medal for Overall Excellent Performance to Mr. Bhargav G Upadhyay. 
 
In his convocation address, Dr. Heggade said SDMIMD has been striving to build up overall personalities and character in the students. His desire is to have students excel in their corporate or own ventures and concurrently holding aloft Indian values and ethos. 
 
Speaking on the changing vistas of higher education, Dr. Heggade opined that New Education Policy (NEP) has several postulates, which is practised by Dharmasthala group of institutions ever since they forayed into education. He stressed on the educational system which upholds the Indian values and the Indian spirit for – integrity, reverence, gratitude, and social responsibility. Advising the graduating students Dr. Heggade said ‘young managers should have a temperamental framework in leading a life of fulfilment and the same time be successful in their avocations’.
