A very special evening was in store for the residential students of SDMIMD Mysore on February 8, 2013, as they witnessed ultimate display of kalarippayattu, ancient Indian martial arts. Amazing display of fitness, flexibility, strength and stamina were seen during “Dhanak 2013” organized by Kalanubhav – the cultural committee of SDMites. Maruthi Kalari group from Trivandrum performed Fire Aerobics, during which the Kalari team members played with fire balls and danced to the traditional beat of Kalariwas another treat to the spectators. Earlier the members of Kalanubhav performed Lavani, Carnatic Music, Rabindranath Sangeeth and Kuchipudi. |
