| Students Exchange Program | |
| SDMIMD has Student Exchange Programs with the MAYS School of Business, Texas A&M University, USA and Global Management Institute of Shanghai University, China. Every year, students can opt to study one term at either of the above Institutes. 8 such students are put through a selection process for each of the university, which also includes an interview. Academic, extra-curricular and co-curricular performance, are considered to draw up the final list of 4 candidates each to study at either Shanghai or Texas. Student Exchange Program to foreign shores is advantageous in three ways. First, at a personal level, self-development and awareness leading to enhanced self-confidence and self-esteem, the most noticeable change in returned exchange students. Second, at the education level International learning and knowledge propels students towards acceptance and understanding of an array of different cultural and community perspectives. Third, at the job prospect level, prospective employers in almost every field look favorably upon the experience gained overseas and knowledge obtained of another culture. In this issue, the PGDM 2012-14 batch students selected for the exchange program with Mays School of Business, Texas A&M University, USA, have shared their aspirations from the programs. |

Mythri H N This is a wonderful opportunity for me, given by SDM-IMD, to complete one of my trimesters in Texas A&M University. This would be a great exposure to me in all perspectives. I will have a chance to learn the US culture, meet new people, explore new places and expand my worldview. US being the largest trade and investor partner of India, my few months there will help me transact in all aspects with them at a level they expect. Lastly, there is no better chance to educate them about India, SDMIMD and its values! |

Spoorthi Gowda When an opportunity crops up, I believe in jumping all over it! Study Abroad Program is one such opportunity given to me by my esteemed institution.This would mean, representing my institution and my country at an international platform as an academic ambassador. A country's greatest power lies in the story it tells. It is this story of my country which I want to tell there. Above all, with the values that SDM-IMD has imbibed in me, I want to this program to be one such milestone of enormous learning and value addition to me as a person and to my institute. |

Amulya M I opted to apply for the study-abroad program so as to gain international exposure, experience about different culture, make friends from diverse backgrounds and become familiar with the changing trends in the global atmosphere. It is an opportunity to examine if my capabilities are on par with others outside India. The learning from this trip would prove as a strong foundation for a greater career path. |

Mayur J The student exchange program at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University is a great opportunity to experience life at a B school in the United States. This will definitely be a value addition while I look to build my career in the corporate world.
