About the Conference
Economies across the globe barring a few have restored normalcy similar to pre-covid levels. Capital Markets in India during seem to be bullish despite challenging global conditions such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict and U.S witnessing the highest inflation in the last four decades. The foreign portfolio investors have exited the Indian markets in anticipation of interest rate hike in the U.S and given the integrated nature of the global markets, it is likely to impact the capital market in India. The uncertainties surrounding the global events are likely to have an effect on the macroeconomic conditions and functioning of financial markets.
On a positive note, the bulging NPA levels have witnessed a downward trend thanks to the active role of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC). The likely strengthening of banks’ financials is expected to streamline credit flows which is one of the key drivers of growth of a country. Additionally, a lot of impetus has been given to development of infrastructure in the country which is expected to aid growth in the future. The Indian market despite all global uncertainties is valued at almost twice that of China’s capital market. Whether the bullish trend is transitory or not hinges on the Central Bank’s decision on key policy rates and the global economic outlook. The conference provides a platform for a free-wheeling discussion on the aforesaid issues. The conference is organized under the aegis of BCIC (Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce) – SDMIMD Centre for Management Excellence.
