| SDM's SKDRDP Wins Ashden Green Award |
 |
Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP), the Micro-Finance institute under the aegis of SDM, has been adjudged the overall gold award winner by Ashden, which promotes universal access to sustainable energy. The award was given in recognition of SKDRDP's role in demonstrating how microfinance organizations can play a key role in meeting energy needs of the poor.
The award, a world's leading green energy prize, was presented to Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Chairman of SDMIMD,
promoter of SKDRDP, by Prince Charles in London on May 30, 2012. Of the five international winners, SKDRDP was the overall gold prize winner.

| SDMites Won Prize in Anti-Drug Ad Making Competition |

Mr. Syed Mamoon Hasan and Mr. Sagar R. Chimurkar of PGDM 2011-13 Batch, have won 2nd prize for their video in Anti-Drug Ad Making Competition – Parivartan organized by Sydenham (SIMSREE), Mumbai. They won the prize by beating many teams including IIM Kozhikode, MICA, IMT Nagpur, SIMC, ITM and several others.

Mr. Aseem A. Kabir and Ms. Sree Gowri Rao of PGDM 2011-13 Batch, participated in National Conference on "Emerging Challenges for Sustainable Business”, at IIT, Roorkee, June 01 & 02, 2012. The students presented a research paper on “Advertising Tactics for Sustenance in Business”. The paper was well appreciated by the session chairs of the conference. |

KHOJ 2012 - the Annual Talent Search event aimed to identify and nurture the artists from the First Year PGDM Batch was held on June 23, 2012. The PGDM 2012-14 Batch students gave a fantastic show with impromptu speeches, colourful dances, skits and fancy dress shows. |

| Workshop on "Statistical Analysis of Research Data using SPSS" |
The Hands-on Workshop on SPSS, designed and offered by Prof. J. Balaji, Professor-Quantitative Methods, SDMIMD, was held during June 09 & 10, 2012 at SDMIMD Mysore. Mr. M. S. Bhat, Professor- Statistics, visiting faculty at Mysore University, inaugurated the workshop and delivered the Keynote address on “Significance of Statistics in Management Sciences”. Prof Bhat called on researchers to give adequate importance to research methodology and connect themselves deeply with the contemporary advancement in technology, while collecting the research data. Earlier, Dr N.R. Parasuraman, Director of the Institute welcomed the participants. The researchers were benefited with a wide variety of advanced statistical techniques in IBM SPSS. |

| PGDM Batch 2012-14 Students' Visit to Dharmasthala |
|
As part of Orientation and Induction program (from 8th June 2012 to 10th June 2012), students were taken to Dharmasthala and places of importance viz. Belur and Hassan. "Saketh" at Dharmasthala, was their home away from home for two days, where students enjoyed traditional hospitality of Dharmasthala culture. Darshan of Lord Manjunatheswara, visit to Shanthivana, Ratnamanasa, Bahubali, Vintage Car Museum, Manjusha Museum and meeting with respected President and Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade were all excitement for the students on 9th June 2012. The students were introduced to the administration and management of the holy place by Sri D. Harshendra Kumar, Honarable Secretary, SDM Educational Trust. On 10th, students made their return journey via temple town Belur and Hassan. At Hassan students enjoyed the visit and lunch at SDM Ayurveda College. The presentation about the college was done by Dr Muralidhar Pujar. |
