| Doctoral Research Program at SDMIMD |

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Research Center for Management Studies (SDM RCMS), the research unit of SDMIMD has been recognized as Doctoral Research Center by the Tumkur University, Karnataka. The center extends professional guidance and assistance to the research aspirants in the area of Management Studies and successful research works will be awarded the doctoral degree by the Tumkur University. Detailed rules for the purpose are under formulation. |

It is not old wine in new bottle always. SDMIMD now has a webpage, all innovated & current. The website gets a fresh new look, providing an improved portal for residents to discover what's going on in their neighbourhood. The website is now a lot easier on both those visiting and the people responsible for running it. |

| Harvard Corner @ SDMIMD Library |

SDMIMD library is supporting, stimulating and serving the academic and research activities among SDMites. In this effort and having understood that books are the original sources of inspiring creativity and innovation in the world, SDMIMD library has set-up a Harvard Corner comprising popular and influential business titles published by the Harvard Business School. The collection also comprises of resources, case studies and videos. The collection is equipped with 973 titles and 996 volumes that will continue to grow in the future. |

| Student Exchange Programs |

As in the previous years, selected students from the second year PGDM are permitted to undergo a full term in a foreign university, as a part of the student exchange arrangement that our Institute has with them. Accordingly, Mr. Karan Prakash Dave, Mr. Rahul M K, Ms. Rakhi Laddar and Ms. Vismaya Mysore Naganna have gone over to Mays Business School, Texas A & M University, and Mr. Nijo John, Mr. Jacob Thomas and Mr. Ashiq N K will be spending a term in Shanghai University, China. |

Two students from PGDM 2012-2014 batch Ms. Shilpa S Menon & Mr. Nadeer Muhammed S presented a paper titled 'Sustainable competitive strategies through social media in hospitality industry' and won second prize in the Paper writing competition "Envision 2012" conducted by XIM- Bhubaneswar. |

| Adopt and Nurture a School Program |
|
Students of SDMIMD are known to do things differently. As a part of social responsibility, SDMites donated furniture to Government Senior Higher Primary School, KARP Body Guard Line, Siddarthanagar, Mysore. During the past 4 years SDMIMD has been supporting the said school in developing infrastructure facility and contributing towards softskills development of children. Requirements in the area of sports, excursions and extra learning have been also met by SDMIMD student community. |

| 66th Indepdence Day Celebration |
|
|
SDMites celebrated 66th Independence Day at their campus with full of pomp and gaiety. Prof. R. Jagadeesh, Professor Operations, unfurled the National Flag and shared some of his experience at Philadelphia and highlighted the importance of our National Anthem. Dr N.R. Parasuraman Director, gave away the certificates students who won at various tournament held at the Institute. Ms Shilpa Giri, Ms Mythri HN and Mr Kunal Kumar shared their thoughts on the occasion with the flash back of freedom struggle, Legacies left by the past leaders and India's achievements. Later, after the community breakfast at Institute's Mess, the Sports Committee Members organized "Scholars Sports Carnival" which went on throughout the day and attracted one and all. Sports events Viz. Tug of War, Throw Ball, Volley Ball, Three Legged Race, Aiming the wicket, Bucket the TT Ball, Fast walk with hurdles of eating bananas, blowing the balloon, Sack Race and Basket Ball were organized. |
