SDMIMD 30 Years of Honoring a Commitment

SDMIMD belongs to the Dharmasthala Trust, renowned for its philanthropic activities for the last 600 years. We have our campus in Mysore which provides residential learning to 400 students for Post-Graduate Management programs, every year. The principal program is the 2-year PGDM (equivalent to MBA) and the students go through a host of compulsory courses, electives, projects and cases apart from a 2-month summer internship in between the two years. This program has been recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and has been internationally accredited by ACBSP, and EFMD. We are members of AACSB as well. Recognizing the impact that our Institute has been having on its stakeholders, students, corporate bodies, regional eco-system and the society at large, EFMD has accorded the BSIS certification to us earlier this year. Recently, our Institute has been rated in the topmost Diamond category by I-Gauge, the Indian wing of the world-renowned QS rankings.

PGDM Program Overview

SDMIMD’s flagship offering is a two year, full time, residential Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) program which is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The program has MBA Equivalence by Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Summer Internship Project

The SIP is a 3 credit course and is designed to provide the PGDM student with an opportunity to work and gain first-hand exposure to the environment, work culture and processes that prevail in real-life organizations. Based on the learning of the first three terms of the program, the student is equipped with the conceptual skills, but lacks the experience of putting this learning into practice. SIP provides the intern an opportunity of learning and decision-making.

SDMIMD requires that every student undergoes such an experiential learning process at the end of the first year of the PGDM program. The SIP duration is 6 to 8 weeks during the months of April and May. The Placement Cell will help the students in finding suitable summer projects and will also provide necessary guidance in completing their assignment. Students may be allowed to source a SIP on their own provided the project details meet the requirement of the Institute. In such a case, the concerned organization should provide a written communication to the Institute before a specified date confirming the project.
