MDP on Six Thinking Hats, Gamification, and storytelling for Effective Decision Making

Management Development Programme (MDP) on "Six Thinking Hats, gamification and storytelling for Effective Decision Making" was conducted at SDMIMD on 26th May 2023. MDP was inaugurated by Director-SDMIMD Dr.S.N. Prasad. The sessions were conducted by the faculty resource persons from SDMIMD in Strategy & General Management area, Dr.S.N. Prasad, Professor & Director SDMIMD and Dr.L. Gandhi, Associate Professor- OB&HR area.
 
The programme was designed to provide insights on the nature and importance of Gamification and Six thinking hats, to conduct a sample of games and provide interpretations on the benefits of those games, to share some popular corporate/management stories, and provide tips to construct effective live stories and to share a few management games and for future implementation. 
 
The programme was well appreciated by the participants who were a mixed batch from Industry and Academia from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states.

MDP on Business Data Analysis with Microsoft Excel and Power BI

A Management Development Program (MDP) was organized on July 26 & 27, 2022, to provide hands-on experience using MS Excel and Power BI for Data Analysis. The participants enjoyed the engaging sessions on the tools with the realtime datasets under the guidance of the MDP faculty resource Prof. M. Minhaj, Associate Professor - Systems, SDMIMD, Mysore. 

MDP on Emotional Intelligence for Effective leadership

Emotional intelligence has gained momentum over the years, in managing emotions intelligently and dealing with people’s issues at the workplace. Especially, in the context of leadership effectiveness, this concept has proved to be imperative, in today’s business. Considering the prevailing situation, SDMIMD organized Management Development Program (MDP) on ‘Emotional Intelligence for Effective Leadership’, on June 27, 2022.
 
The MDP aimed at facilitating the participants to appraise and appreciate issues and concerns a leader encounter in organizational situations while dealing with people, both individually and in teams. Through experiential learning and simulations, the program deliberated the various ways of leading in organizations, with the help of Emotional Intelligence, as an effective tool. Topics, such as leadership styles, leading teams, managing conflict, and emotion management, were discussed.
 
SDMIMD Professors in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources - Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta, and Dr. Mousumi Sengupta were the resource persons for the program.

MDP on Predictive Analytics for Decision Making

A two-day online management development program on “Predictive Analytics for Decision Making” was conducted on June 24 & 25, 2022. The coverage included a discussion on the importance of predictive analytics in decision making, an introduction to the predictive models, and the application of predictive models for predicting future events. Predictive models such as Linear regression, Logistic regression, Multinomial Regression, and Tobit regression, were discussed and hands-on experience was provided to the participants. Two important tools, Gretl and JASP, were introduced during the sessions for analyzing the data. Participants were informed on the process of teaching these methods to students, using them in research, and adopting them for consultancy. The MDP ended with questions from the participants.  

MDP on Red Flags in Financials and Financial Analytics

An MDP on 'Red Flags in Finance and Financial Analytics' was organized on June 16, 2022. The faculty resource persons from the SDMIMD Finance area - Dr. M. Sriram, Associate Professor, and Dr. K. Riyazahmed, Assistant Professor, emphasized various approaches that individuals can use in evaluating the financial oddities of a company during the sessions.  The program gave a good overview of the emerging techniques of ascertaining signals from financial statements and related records. The program attracted participants from both corporate and academic institutions.

SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) like to present the 2022 edition of Management Development Programs (MDPs). MDP 2022 is focused on changing demands in business and needs of professional executives. The MDP 2022 will introduce the participants with the latest tools, techniques and skills in Strategic Management, Leadership, HR, OB, Marketing, Finance, Operations Management and General Management.

MDP on Creativity, Innovation and Design

SDMIMD organized a MDP on Creativity, Innovation, and Design on the virtual platform on July 14, 2021. The program highlighted the need to develop and nurture creativity, innovation, and design skills in all professional fields. Further, the emphasis of this program was on the persistent attitude required for achieving individual, team, and organizational transformation and excellence. Dr S. Saibaba, Assistant Professor – Marketing, and Dr. (Lt Col) Prasad S.N, Deputy Director & Professor – Strategy and General Management, delivered the sessions.
