| Naissance 2012 |

SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore, in association with Software Paradigms Infotech Pvt Ltd. (SPI) hosted a 3 day National level B-school fest at its premises. The annual fest, 'Naissance 2012' was held from 27th to 29th Jan, 2012. The event was attended by management students and industry leaders. The best of management talent duelled over the 3 day fest for top honors in events like Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, Strategy among others. The team from XIME, Banglore emerged as the overall champions of the event. |

Inauguration of International Symposium |
The symposium was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the luminaries on January 9, 2012 at SDMIMD Campus. The event was declared open by Prof. S. Prabhakar, Secretary, SDM Educational Trust. Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director of SDMIMD, welcomed the gathering. Mr. Sid Mookerji, CEO, Software Paradigm Infotech (SPI) in his keynote address highlighted three issues - the key factors that led to India's growth, Cultural differences between India and the West, and his own experience in ‘Doing Business in India’ through SPI. He also spoke of India's first rank as a country through the Global Services Location Index, through its high scores on people skills and availability. It was a proud moment to note that India ranks third on FDI confidence index, trailing only US and China. With various anecdotes and incidents lacing his speech, Mr. Mookerji kept the crowds enthralled.

SDMIMD Celebrated the 63rd Republic Day: The Celebrations started off with Dr H Gayathri Dean Administration unfurling the National Flag. Dr N.R. Parasuraman Director, addressed gathering. "Focusing on development backed by practice of invaluable Indian ethos is the need of the hour" - he stressed. The celebrations included distribution of Certificates to winners of Sports events held on Sports day 2011, distribution of clothing to Mess and House Keeping Staff (donated by students), Student Coordinator Mr Kamal's talk, followed by presentation of poetry by Mr Karan Dave, talks by Mr Girish and Ms Pooja Mishra.Distribution of sweets, community breakfast at the Mess and Best of three Volley Ball Match between First and Second year students concluded the celebrations. |

Mr. Kshemal Desai
|
Kshemal has 15 years experience in the Consumer Research, Brand Activation, Sales and Global Back office Sales Operations in the Order to Cash vertical. Currently with HP, as Account Delivery Manager for Volume Direct Operations for all of EMEA.
He started his career in Research with Gallup and Indica Research for 4 years after which the next 7 1/2 years were spent in Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL). He has been with HP now from the last 4 years and 9 months managing planning, supply chain, marketing and order management teams.
Domain expertise include setting up large scale new businesses with Channel partners, Brand management, ATL and BTL activities, Large scale Direct to home campaign detailing and execution, people management and performance management.
He is actively involved in diversity recruiting and employee mentorship at HP. He supports other philanthropic organizations as well as provides mentorship to 6 students from the Bangalore Management Academy.
Kshemal is happily married to Dr. Keerthi and is blessed with as he calls them 2 Angels- his Son Parth is 12 years and Daughter Riyaa is 7 years old.
Kshemal is fluent in English and dabbles in 5 Indian regional languages. His latest passion is to learn Spanish. He has a Business degree from SDMIMD and most recently has been conferred a Certificate from the Indian Statistical Institute for completing “Six Sigma Black Belt with Lean” training for IT/ITES Industries.

| Visit of Vice Consul - Federal Republic of Germany |

Ms. Monika Rattich, Vice Consul and Dr. Manjula Mundakana, Scientific Officer from the Federal Republic of Germany Consultate, Bangalore visited SDM Institute for Management, Mysore on 19th January 2012. Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD & Dr. H. Gayathri, Dean – Administration & Professor and other Faculty Members held preliminary discussion with them regarding possible tie-ups with German Universities. The visiting dignitaries were impressed with the physical and academic infrastructure and the academic activities of the Institute and evinced interest in collaborating with SDMIMD.
