| Karnataka HR Mahotsava 2012 |

| “Build human relations first, before trying to manage human resources” - HR Experts |

SDMIMD in collaboration with Chapters of National Institute of Personnel Management (NIPM) organized the first ever “Karnataka HR Mahotsava (KHRM)” was held on 2 & 3 November 2012. Shri. Sharu Rangnekar, legendary management educator inaugurated the Mahotsava. IMRB International south region business head Shri. M. Panneerselvam was the Guest of Honour for inaugural ceremony. The deliberations and the invited talks of Mahotsava were on the theme “Role of HR Professionals in E4WM – Ethical Wellness Management”. The sessions on E4WM (Employer, Employee, Enterprise, Ethical and Wellness Management) was held on Saturday, 3 November 2012. The invited talks on the Mahotsava theme were delivered by the leading HR managers from the corporate, consultancy and academia. Mr. Ganesh Natarajan, ED (HR), BEML; Mr. Vishwaprasad Alva, MD, Skan Ray; Mr. Ravichandra Bekal, Head HR, Nestle India Ltd; Mr. P. Sudeep, Registrar, Earth Science, Trivandrum; Mr. Sreekanth, VP (HR), Britannia Industries; and Mr. Chandrashekar, Senior VP (HR), IBM Global; were among the key speakers. The Mahotsava concluded with the valedictory session chaired by Dr. Sudha Rao, Chief Educational Officer (CEO), Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Educational Society. |

| Launch of IT Club by SDMites |

Considering the growing significance of Information Technology in Management, SDMites have taken an initiative to form a Forum to facilitate discussions, talks by executives from the IT industry and other activities for better understanding of IT. The forum christened as “Club Silicon” aims to maintain and disseminate an updated knowledge base and evangelizing the use of IT in various functions of management. As part of its launch on 9th October 2012, “Technetium” an IT quiz was organized in the campus which involved general, visual and faceoff rounds. The students team consisting of Vinay, Nilesh, Shilpa S Menon, Ayush Majumder and Sachin Patel emerged victorious. |

| Special Appreciation from SPI |
|
Software Paradigm International (SPI), Mysore awarded the special appreciation certificate for the assignment submitted by SDMites. The assignment for the Product and Solution Division of SPI was carried out by Mr. Pankaj Kesarwani, Mr. Pote Shashank Shirish, Mr. Madhurh Malhotra, Ms. Nikita Ajwani and Ms. Siddhi Agarwal of PGDM 2011-13. |

| Dasara 2012: Best Educational Institute Garden Award |
SDMIMD garden bagged the Best Educational Institute Garden award in Dasara 2012 Flower Show Competition. SDMIMD has been consistently winning this Rolling Cup (award) from 2005. The ornamental plants covering the entire campus and the fruit garden have won the First Prize in the respective categories.

| International Study Tour 2012 |
|
The Institute-sponsored International Trip to Malaysia for all first year PGDM students got underway from 11 October 2012 with the departure of first batch. The study tour of a week long was aimed to provide hands-on experience in International Business Affairs covering socio-economic and cultural situations. The academic visit to University of Nottingham and corporate visits contributed in achieving the aim of the study tour. |

| International HR Conference on December 14 & 15, 2012 |
|
SDMIMD organizes International Conference in the area of HR annually, which seek to address the various issues in managing employees, in terms of challenges of identifying, developing and nurturing the human capital in an organization. This year the conference is scheduled to be on 14 & 15 December 2012. The conference theme is “Managing human resource at the workplace”. Research papers, case studies and articles are invited on conference theme and sub-themes from various inter-disciplinary areas and sectors.

| International Symposium 2013 |
|
|
A One-day International symposium will be held on January 4, 2013 at our campus. Leading corporate executives will be the key speakers in the symposium. Prof. Avvari V Mohan, Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Director of MBA & MSc Programmes, Nottingham University Business School, Malaysia; Mr. Vinay Kumar, Vice President, Polaris Ltd. Hyderabad; and, Mr. Ramesh Venkateswaran, Chairman, Custommerce Service Excellence Foundation and Former Director, SDMIMD will be delivering the invited talks. An introductory program on Entrepreneurial Innovation by Mr. Lokesh, Innomantra Consulting Private Limited is also scheduled for the symposium. Further, there will be a Round Table discussion on specific issues. The symposium will also have a student-interaction session involving Students of SDMIMD and Mays School of Business, Texas A&M, USA. |
