Vision Mysuru–2050 Receives Strong Response; Grand Finale on March 23

Mysuru, March 14, 2026: Vision Mysuru–2050, a student-driven civic initiative of the SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysuru, has entered the idea evaluation phase at the institute’s campus. Launched on February 12, 2026, the initiative aims to transform citizen insights and innovative proposals into structured recommendations for the future development of Mysuru.
The initiative received an overwhelming response with over 300 ideas from students, citizens, and professionals. After an initial screening, 172 ideas have been shortlisted for presentation before a jury panel comprising domain experts from fields such as defence, heritage, academia, technology, and management. The submissions address key themes including urban infrastructure, sustainability, digital governance, tourism, heritage conservation, social inclusion, and economic development. The Top 5 ideas will advance to the Grand Finale on March 23, 2026, at 4:00 PM, where teams will present their proposals before district authorities and experts. The Top 3 winning ideas will be selected, and the shortlisted proposals will also be compiled into a White Paper contributing to Mysuru’s long-term development vision. Vision Mysuru–2050 continues to promote collaborative and participatory urban planning, bringing together citizens, experts, and institutions to reimagine the future of Mysuru. |
