Naissance 2026: SDMIMD Hosts “The Grand Expedition” with Over 530 Participants from 24 Premier Institutions

SDMIMD successfully hosted Naissance 2026, its flagship B-School Management Fest, on February 6 and 7, 2026. Themed “The Grand Expedition,” the fest celebrated exploration, resilience, strategic thinking, and leadership in a dynamic business environment.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Basavanagowdappa H, Vice Chancellor of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ms. Smitha Bopanna, Director, Noesys Software Pvt. Ltd. and Co-Founder of Infoveave (Australia), attended as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries were welcomed by Dr. Mohammed Minaj, Dean, SDMIMD, along with faculty members and students.

Bringing together over 530 participants from 24 premier colleges across India, Naissance 2026 featured twelve national-level management events spanning Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations, Analytics, Business Strategy, and General Management, along with cultural and sports competitions. The events simulated real-world business scenarios, challenging participants to demonstrate analytical acumen, creativity, leadership, and decision-making under pressure.

The fest was supported by Connect2Future (Title Sponsor) and Cedilla (Official Partner), along with Associate Sponsors Infoveave, Head Held High Foundation, and Federal Bank, and Co-Sponsors Ivana, Shree Maruthi Couriers, Sai Ganesh Traders, and Shri Shashi Hardware and Paints.

During the valedictory ceremony, Mr. Sathvik from Christ University, Bengaluru, was declared the Best Manager of Naissance 2026, while CMS Business School, Jain University, Bengaluru, secured the Overall Championship title.

Naissance 2026 concluded with resounding success, reinforcing SDMIMD’s commitment to experiential learning and developing future-ready management professionals.

Harfest 2026

February 1, 2026: SDMIMD, Mysuru is not just a hub of academic excellence—it is a vibrant arena where ideas come alive through action. Beyond classrooms and case studies, the Institute offers students abundant opportunities to translate learning into meaningful experiences. The creative, student-driven events regularly hosted on campus stand as powerful testimony to this dynamic culture.
 
Harfest–2026 was one such spectacular celebration—conceptualized, created, and flawlessly executed by the proud students of SDMIMD. More than a cultural fest, it was a radiant tribute to India’s harvest festivals—Makara Sankranthi, Pongal, Lohri, Magh Bihu, Uttarayan, and many more—bringing together traditions from across the nation onto one lively stage.
 
The campus came alive with vibrant cultural showcases, energetic dance and music performances, and spirited sporting events. With students representing the rich and diverse tapestry of India, Harfest–2026 beautifully embodied and reinforced the timeless spirit of “Unity in Diversity,” transforming celebration into a shared cultural experience.

Vittaksha 2026

Curious minds, intense competition, moments of nail-biting anticipation, and unwavering perseverance for success—Vittaksha–2026 at SDMIMD was a true celebration of intellect and ambition.

The Finacle – the Finance and Economics Club of SDMIMD, Mysuru, successfully hosted Vittaksha–2026, a vibrant intercollegiate finance event held on January 5, 2026, bringing together young financial minds on a single, dynamic platform. Designed with precision and creativity, the event reflected the ingenuity, dedication, and tireless efforts of the Finacle team members, who worked meticulously to ensure a seamless and enriching experience.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 37 teams representing colleges across Bengaluru, Mysuru, Coimbatore, and Mangaluru, creating an atmosphere charged with competition, collaboration, and intellectual rigour. Vittaksha–2026 emerged as a grand success—not only in terms of participation but also in the quality of engagement and execution—standing as a testament to the Finacle Committee’s consistent commitment to excellence in event organization and academic enrichment.

Legacy of Learning: A Tribute by LIFE Committee

The SDMIMD students' Library Initiative For Education (LIFE) Committee completed the book donation initiative in memory of the late Prof. H.H. Annaiah Gowda, a renowned Shakespearean scholar and former Professor of English at the University of Mysore. As part of this project, over 1,500 books in English from the collection of Prof. Gowda were meticulously catalogued and donated to Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysore, while an additional 500+ Kannada books were allocated to the Department of Public Library, Mysore. 
 
To recognise the dedication and tireless efforts of the students involved, a certificate of appreciation was presented by Dr. S.N. Prasad, Director, SDMIMD, to all LIFE Committee members who contributed to this meaningful project.
 
This project exemplifies the institute’s commitment to knowledge-sharing, community engagement, and preserving the legacy of distinguished scholars for future generations

iNaturalist 2025 – SDMIMD Biodiversity Report

The iNaturalist 2025 Project at SDMIMD is a student-led biodiversity documentation initiative conducted across the institute’s 8-acre green campus. Using the global iNaturalist platform, flora and fauna were recorded, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and citizen science. This project aligns with the United Nations SDGs and SDMIMD’s ESG goals, fostering environmental stewardship and experiential learning. Supported by the student's ESG and Drishti Committees and faculty mentors, the initiative demonstrates how management education can integrate ecological responsibility with academic rigour, positioning SDMIMD as a model for nature-integrated campus practices and sustainability-focused pedagogy.

SDMIMD Extends Financial Support to NGOs as Part of Social Responsibility Initiatives

As part of its social responsibility initiatives, SDMIMD Mysuru extended financial support to several NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) on January 2, 2025.
 
SDMIMD has consistently provided financial aid to NGOs over the years. Through its Socially Relevant Project (SRP) activities, SDMIMD students actively engage with various NGOs to address pressing social issues and contribute meaningful solutions.
 
This year, SDMIMD has extended financial assistance to Chetana Trust, Divya Deepa Charitable Trust’s Kaliyuva Mane, Arivu Vidya Samsthe, Pratham, Shakthidama, Pinjarapole, Asha Kirana Hospital, Vasavi Shanthidhama, ATMA Foundation – Thrissur, Kerala, and Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM). These organizations have provided valuable opportunities for SDMIMD students to undertake Socially Relevant Projects (SRPs) and gain hands-on experience in addressing societal challenges.

SDMIMD and Rotary Club of Mysore Host Blood Donation Drive

On October 19, 2024, SDMIMD, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mysore, organized a successful blood donation drive. Led by the L.I.F.E and ANTS committees, the event was inaugurated by Prof. Sridhar CV, Mr. Sameer Kashyap, and Mr. Praveen.
 
With 82 students donating blood, the drive reflected SDMIMD's commitment to social responsibility and community welfare. The seamless organization and enthusiastic participation showcased the institution's spirit of compassion and philanthropy.

Naissance 2024, the flagship B-School Management Fest of SDMIMD, Mysore, kicked off with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event was inaugurated by Smt. Seema Latkar, IPS Officer and SP of Mysore District, alongside esteemed industry figures, setting the stage for a thrilling showcase of talent and innovation.
 
In her address, SP Smt. Seema Latkar emphasized the importance of platforms like Naissance in nurturing future leaders and bridging the gap between academia and industry expectations.
 
Dr. (Lt Col) Prasad S.N, Director of SDMIMD, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, paving the way for a captivating exploration of Naissance 2024's theme "Vanguard of Tech Multiverse." Throughout the fest, participants engaged in a series of competitive Management events, showcasing their strategic acumen, innovative prowess, and managerial skills.
 
Naissance 2024 witnessed an overwhelming response, with over 475 participants representing 42 colleges from across India. This remarkable turnout is a testament to the growing popularity and relevance of Naissance as a platform for academic excellence, networking, and skill development.
 
Throughout the event, participants engaged in spirited competitions, showcasing their talents and innovative ideas across various domains. After intense deliberation and competition, the students from Christ University, Bangalore (Bannerghatta), emerged as the winners of Naissance 2024, while St. Aloysius University secured the runner-up position, demonstrating their exceptional skills and strategic acumen.
 
Naissance 2024 concluded with a Prize Distribution ceremony for the winners and runners-up and all the participants. As the fest concluded, participants departed with newfound insights and connections, marking Naissance 2024 as a resounding success in the realm of management education.

Blood Donation Camp 2023

The blood you donate gives someone a second chance at life. Social issues are always addressed by SDMites with great enthusiasm whenever circumstances call for it. Overall, 67 students and faculty members donated blood to this noble cause. Rotary Mysore and Jeevadhara blood banks provided SDMIMD with the opportunity to hold a blood donation camp on August 19, 2023.

SDMIMD organized Blood Donation Camp

SDMIMD joined Terapanth Yuvak Parishad in conducting World's Biggest Donation Drive on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Institute Wellness Center. SDMIMD joined the blood donation drive held throughout the Country at 2,000+ blood donation camps under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GOI, in Collaboration with Tearapannth Parishad, India.
 
Sri. Nagendra, MLA, Chamaraja Constituency Mysore, inaugurated the Blood Donation Camp at SDMIMD. Mr Nagendra highlighted the importance of blood donation and appreciated the initiatives of Terapanth Yuvak Parishad and SDMIMD for conducting the camp. Dr S.N. Prasad, Deputy Director and Prof. C.V. Sridhar, Faculty & Manager - Administration, addressed the gathering. The members of the Parishad, Faculty, Staff Members, and Students, were present during the inauguration. Students & Staff Members from the institute and Members of Terapanth Yuvak Parishad Mysore generously donated blood for this Noble cause with great enthusiasm.
