Visit to Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala

As part of this enriching experience, the newly inducted PGDM 2026–28 batch of SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysuru, visited the sacred town of Shri Dharmasthala—the spiritual and philosophical foundation of the SDM Educational Trust.

During the visit, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Chairman of the SDM Educational Trust, interacted with the students. His address underscored the values of integrity, service, humility, and ethical leadership that define the SDM legacy.

The students also toured various key institutions and service centres in Dharmasthala, gaining first-hand insight into the Trust’s extensive social initiatives and the seamless functioning of its diverse activities. Heads of different departments explained the vision, operations, and impact of their respective initiatives, offering students a comprehensive understanding of the Trust’s service-oriented ecosystem.

The visit gave students a profound appreciation of the philosophy of selfless service and philanthropy that has been the hallmark of Shri Dharmasthala for decades. It also deepened their understanding of the timeless principle of ‘Chathurvidha Daan’—the fourfold tradition of charity encompassing food, knowledge, medicine, and protection—which continues to guide the humanitarian mission of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala.
