National Conference on “HR at the Modern Workplace”
| The inaugural function of National Conference on “HR at the Modern Workplace” was held on 16 December 2011 between 9.45 am – 10.45 am at SDM Institute for Management Development.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. N. R. Parasuraman, Director- SDMIMD. In his address, he focused on the theme of the conference and pointed out the need to discuss a wide range of HR issues at the modern workplace. Prof. S. Prabhakar, Secretary SDM Educational Trust was present at the function and paved the opening of the conference by lighting of the auspicious lamp, ushered by Dr. H. Gayathri – Dean (Administration)and Professor - Marketing, SDMIMD. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr. D. D. Bhat, General Manager - Commercial and Legal of JK Tyre & Industries Limited – Vikrant Tyre Unit at Mysore. In his speech, very aptly, he brought out the evolving role of HR and highlighted the need for looking for indigenous HR practices, by introspecting into our own culture. The function was presided over by Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Conference Chair and Professor – HRM, SDMIMD. Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta , Conference Co-chair and Professor – HRM proposed the Vote of Thanks. The function was well attended by invited dignitaries, delegates, paper presenters, faculty, staff, and students. |
Conference on Service Strategies for Global Leadership at SDMIMD
| Achieving global leadership through service delivery with the customer in mind was the theme of the two-day Conference on Service Strategies for Global Leadership held at SDMIMD on July 23, 24, 2009. The conference, sequel to the Customer Centricity Conclave held last year, was a part of the activities of the CUSTOMMERCE Center for Service Excellence, an initiative of Custommerce, SDMIMD and Servion Global Solutions. The sessions were highly enriching as it covered a variety of topics related to Service Industry. The conference provided the perfect start for the academic year.
