ABHIGNA Committee
The current affairs are a committee (ABHIGNA) consisting of 5 core members and 13 committee members started on 15 June 2021. The committee focus on the current affairs on subjects like science, technology, banking, politics and other relevant topic of discussion. The committee organizes weekly session on current affairs with focus on the latest technological development, innovation, geopolitics relations and business updates across the world to keep the students abreast of the dynamic trends. Club Data Tech
“Club DataTech”, the students’ Data Analytics club of SDMIMD was established with an objective to act as a backbone for all the data analytics related activities at the Institute. It was formed with an objective to provide students an opportunity to assimilate, learn, and distribute wisdom related to the contemporary developments in data analytics. It meets this by producing newsletters, organizing the guest lectures, quizzes, conducting intra-college events etc. Also, the club actively conducts Pre-placement activities (PPA) via conducting workshops on contemporary developments to the students. Club Silicon
"Silicon, the students’ Systems Club of SDMIMD was established in 2012 with an objective of serving as a single point of contact among the institute’s students for all the IT related activities. The club besides serving as an interface between the students and Systems department of the institute, also endeavors to evangelize the application of Information Technology in various functions of management through organization of many intra college events like Contests ,Quizzes, workshops, PPA (Pre-placement activity) knowledge sharing sessions, inter college events, guest lectures etc. Since its inception the club has internally managed all IT-support activities like development of websites etc., for the events organized by the students." Consulate Commitee
The Consulate Committee at SDMIMD is a student-run committee with the aim of preparing students for a successful career in the consulting industry. Dimensions Committee
“Dimensions” is the official magazine of SDMIMD. It gives the students a proper platform to showcase their writing skills and other general interests other than curricular topics. The cover story reflects the contemporary issue and will be the most awaited part of the issue to the readers. It also has interviews from the business industry which will be of great help to the reader to hone his/her skills and be industry ready. Book reviews are also included to cater to book lovers and to help others inculcate the habit of reading. The magazine also has articles written by students on diverse topics which will surely enhance the knowledge base of the reader. On a whole Dimensions is a crisp copy to enlighten a management student’s horizon. DRISHTI Committee
Drishti is a photography and cinematography committee. It is a platform for people to see the various activities and events held at SDMIMD. We capture various events such as guest lectures by imminent personalities, national and international conferences, inter-college competitions, cultural events, festivals and other management events that take place in the college campus.We conducts photography workshops and also showcase various inspirational movies and documentaries so that the students can reduce their stress and learn simultaneously. Environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) Committee
The ESG Committee in SDMIMD is a platform for those who believe in the interconnectedness of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and effective governance practices. We actively collaborate with local schools, and communities to promote sustainable practices. Through initiatives like visiting government schools and interacting with students, we inspire the younger generation to become environmental stewards and socially responsible citizens. Throughout the academic year, we host a series of events and campaigns focused on sustainable practices. These include tree-planting drives, recycling campaigns, energy conservation initiatives, and awareness campaigns on pressing social issues. Finnacle Club
Finnacle holds the Financial Backbone of SDM-IMD. This committee basically encompasses the committee members whose work entails publishing of weekly/daily news clips (Videos/audios/news scripts) related to Finance on the college’s website. Conducting quizzes in the college so as to keep the students updated with Financial Jargons and the where about. Finnacle also conducts intra-college events so as to enable students to get practical experience. Recruitment Process basically comprises of three rounds; First round is a Quiz, keen students can enrol their name and generalized quiz related to Finance and current affairs is conducted. The shortlisted students move to second round which is event creation, to see the creative side of students. The selected students move on to the third round which is Personal Interview. HunaR - HR Club
"HunaR is the HR club of SDMIMD established in 2016. The club's main aim is to foster learning in aspiring HR professionals. The club would be doing its part in exposing students to industry updates, core concepts and also helping them apply those concepts through various competitions, case studies and knowledge sharing sessions. The club would also be responsible for developing relationship with the industry professionals. INK & Voice
The SDMIMD Speaker’ Club is a public speaking club of SDMIMD that was established on February 4th, 2023 after the closure of SDMIMD Toastmasters Club. The club's objective is to provide a supportive and positive learning environment in which members can develop their public speaking and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. The meeting format is modeled after Toastmasters International, and members can expect to participate in a variety of speaking activities and programs designed to improve their public speaking and leadership abilities. Some of the common activities include prepared speeches, impromptu speaking exercises, evaluations, and group discussions among members. Kalanubhav Committee
A committee with the aim of getting in the cultural awareness amongst the students of the college, about Indian art forms and also to empower these art forms through events. LIFE Committee
L.I.F.E.@School committee is an initiative undertaken by the group of students in SDMIMD with the aim of setting up a library at Govt. Adarsha Vidyalaya school. After successfully accomplishing its very first project, the team voluntarily came up with initiates and started conducting various activities for the school students in order to enhance the quality of education and create awareness on various other aspects of education. Apart from all these, the team organises competitions and knowledge-based activities among the students to make knowledge learning an enriching experience for them. “Mporia” the Marketing Club of SDM-IMD has been established to inculcate the knowledge of Marketing in the Students of SDM-IMD. The club issues Newsletter weekly covering the current trends in the industry, the club also host’s guest lectures , the invitee’s of which are eminent personalities from the Corporate world who can add value by sharing his/her hands on experience in their Marketing Domain. MediaScape Committee
The Mediascape committee has been formed to liaise with and facilitate interaction with digital media and to ensure publicity for the institute at various events. Through the endeavour of mediascape, it has helped the institute garner a strong media presence on Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram. Apart from these, the committee motivates and stimulates the faculties and students to publish their writings on the official media pages. It works towards creating an effective channel of information through sharing of relevant and useful information on key topics like admissions and all the college events on social networks to engage the huge viewership that the social media handles of the college possess. Samprati Committee
Samprati is the event management committee in SDMIMD. At the beginning of each academic year, Samprati organizes “Khoj”, which is an event where the first year students get a chance to showcase their talents by participating in different competitions. It provides a platform for the first year students to know each other better through group activities. It organizes “Abhigyaan”, which is one of the biggest events in the SDMIMD calendar as it attracts undergraduate students from the best colleges in South India and gives them a peek into the life in a B-school through various competitions. Samprati also tries to give a great farewell to the second year students at the end of their course by organizing the Farewell Day. As such, Samprati makes an effort to make the life of the students memorable and ensure that they will take away great memories.
