Dear Reader,

It gives me immense pleasure in telling you the progress made by SDMIMD in the areas of Placements and Admissions.  Last academic year saw SDMIMD placements moving up in numbers and average salary.  Several new companies from the financial, manufacturing and IT sectors including MNCs visited the campus.  As our students completed their Summer Internships by the first week of Jun this year, we have been receiving pre placement offers and inquiries to visit campus for placements by several blue chip organisations.  We hope to see a very busy and successful placement season from Oct ’11 onwards.  Student Profiles for Placements 2011-12 available on this website will give you the introduction to PGDM Batch 2010-12. These 120 students will be available for placements by Oct 2011 and for employment by March 2012.

Admissions this year saw overwhelming response from across India and the new PGDM Batch 2011-13 is an eclectic mix of 180 students from over 21 states.   Average CAT and XAT scores among the admitted students rose to new high this year.  Interviews as part of selection process for admissions were held at 8 locations across the country and the response was unprecedented.

Presently, the academic activities are in progress with a good pace and several new initiatives have been taken to increase value addition in terms of course content and rigour.  Yoga and Wellness is now a credit course in our PGDM curriculum.  Some of the courses like Strategy in Action, introduced last year have seen tremendous response.   Our aim of keeping up with the employer requirements and emphasis on strong base in concepts and theories of management while designing the curriculum has been rightly appreciated by our recruiters.

Student Activities in terms of their participation in various fests, student exchanges for the year have already started.  One of our students visited Russia in the first week of July as a delegate to participate in the World Environment Day activities.  Four of our students are leaving for Texas A&M University as part of our ongoing student exchange program.

SDMIMD is on the move and we are certain that the sincere efforts of our management, faculty, staff, alumni and students will give us long term dividends.

We earnestly hope to see you visit our campus for your executive talent requirements this year.
