Winter School Program at SDMIMD, Mysuru

The Winter School Program organised by the Business Analytics Institute (BAI), France, was successfully conducted at the SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysuru, from January 28 to February 7, 2026. The programme was themed “Agentic Systems and the Transformation of Work.”
 
The programme was inaugurated with a keynote address by Dr. Lee Schlenker, Head of BAI, who highlighted India’s optimistic growth trajectory and rising global expectations. He noted that BAI’s decision to collaborate with SDMIMD was in recognition of the visionary initiatives of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Chairman of SDM Trusts.
 
Dr. Schlenker also underscored the transformative impact of artificial intelligence and the need to understand the evolving role of humans in an AI-driven workplace. The programme featured expert lectures, hands-on workshops, interactive discussions, and field visits, providing participants with comprehensive exposure to agentic systems.
 
Addressing the participants, Dr. S. N. Prasad, Director, SDMIMD, spoke on the application of artificial intelligence across key sectors in India and highlighted emerging opportunities for India–Europe collaboration. He also briefed participants on the mission and initiatives of SDM Trusts.
 
The introductory remarks were delivered by Dr. Mohamed Minhaj, Dean – Academics, SDMIMD, who outlined the academic collaboration between BAI and SDMIMD. As part of the programme, he also conducted a specialised workshop on the development of Agentic AI systems.
 
The programme concluded with a valedictory address by Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Dean – International Relations and Professor of HRM & OB, who highlighted the significance of global academic partnerships and interdisciplinary learning. She also distributed certificates to the participants, marking the successful completion of the Winter School Program.

Heilbronn University Team Visits SDMIMD Mysore

As part of the international academic partnership, a team of students and faculty members from Heilbronn University Graduate School (HUGS), Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, Germany, visited the SDMIMD Mysore campus on March 3, 2025.
 
During the visit, Dr. S. N. Prasad, Director of SDMIMD, conducted a session for the German team on India’s history, culture, people, and business. Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Dean of International Relations at SDMIMD, led an interactive session on ethics, responsibility, and sustainability in India. Dr. Mamta Hegde, a faculty member in the area of HRM at SDMIMD, shared her insights on Indian business leadership.
 
From Heilbronn, Dr. Ulrike Weingart, Professor of Family Business & Ethics; Daniel Nill, Junior Professor at the Tandem Qualification Centre for Supply Chain Management; and Anastasia Zenn, Degree Programme Manager, accompanied the student team.

International Student Exchange Program 2023 – PGDM 2022-24

As part of the students exchange program 31 select students of PGDM 2022-24 batch will be visiting eight different international foreign universities for a whole term of study. During the program SDMIMD students will be studying with many international students and get taught by several faculty from different nationalities. The experience of having different pedagogy is invaluable for their growth. Besides the facility to do cases and projects with students of other nationalities and background affords cross-cultural understanding. Further, the evaluation technique used in these schools enables students to be on their toes and prove their mettle.

As part of the students exchange program 27 select students will be visiting seven different international foreign universities for a whole term of study. During the program SDMIMD students will be studying with many international students and get taught by several faculty from different nationalities. The experience of having different pedagogy is invaluable for their growth. Besides the facility to do cases and projects with students of other nationalities and background affords cross-cultural understanding. Further, the evaluation technique used in these schools enables students to be on their toes and prove their mettle.

Visit of EAE Business School team, Spain

 
As part of the exchange arrangement that SDMIMD has with EAE Business School, Spain, a group of 5 students and 1 faculty spent a whole two weeks in July, at Mysore. The delegation was headed by Alexia de la Morena Gómez, Director of the Master in Marketing and Commercial Management (Groups B and C), EAE, Spain.
 
The program was scheduled from July 15 to 26, 2019. The program was packed with industry visits, socially relevant projects, academic sessions and the visit to heritage sites. The students had a chance to learn about exploring the business opportunities in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
 
Side by side, they were exposed to social projects. Teaming with SDMIMD students, the overseas students were divided into groups and made to study specific projects, in respect of which a final report will be presented by them. The visit also had a couple of corporate visits and interaction.
