Faculty Exchange Program

Dr. Mousumi Sengupta Professor - OB HRM, has visited ESC Pau Business School, France, in the month of November 2023. She has taught the course on "Responsible HRM", to the group of students at ESC Pau, as a part of the Faculty Exchange program from SDMIMD. Students from various countries, including US, Germany, Mexico, Spain, South Korea, China, Nigeria, have attended the sessions, conducted by her. The sessions were made highly interactive and activity-based and received high appreciation from the students.

SDMIMD Students excel in National level management fest at Kerala

The School of Management at De Paul Institute of Science and Technology recently hosted the 10th edition of DAKSH, a prestigious national-level management fest held on November 7-8, 2023. Noteworthy achievements were marked by the outstanding performance of SDMIMD students, securing the overall runner-up position. Particularly impressive was the triumph in the Marketing event by Amith Kumar H L, Ramachandra Hegde, Sumukh Prashanth, and Gautham Menon. Additionally, a significant victory was achieved in the HR event by B.N Chaitanya, Yashwanth, Tushar Nag RN, and Druva N, Bethe Jayaprakash Naidu earned recognition as the runner-up in the Best Manager category, adding another accolade to the institute’s success. Prajwal P and Yashas showcased their expertise in the Business Quiz, reaching the semi-finals and contributing to the overall commendable performance of SDMIMD at DAKSH 2023.

Elevating Knowledge: Unveiling ERP Fundamentals with Sudhir S Mysore

PGDM 2023-25 Batch had the opportunity to get insights on the 'Fundamentals of ERP' during the industry intervention session. The session speaker, Mr. Sudhir S Mysore, a Product Owner of Digital Manufacturing Solutions at SAP Lab, with his journey spanning over 20 years across pre-sales, business development, product development, and project management, added depth to the session. The industry intervention session, a key component of the Understanding Information Systems in Organization (UISO) course, was organised by SDMIMD on November 3 & 4, 2023. The session delved into the core concepts of ERP, unravelling its significance in today's rapidly evolving business landscape, and shared practical insights on process integration, product development, and project management.

Career360 B School survey 2024 Results

In the Career360 B-School Survey 2024, SDMIMD is placed in 27th position among Top Private B-Schools in India and has got AAAA rating in the B Schools of South zone.

Invited talk by Mr. Chinmay Ananda

The Speakers Club of SDMIMD hosted Mr. Chinmay Ananda, a Financial Education expert, Business Storyteller, International Speaker, and Best-Selling Author, on November 4, 2023, focusing on enhancing communication skills. Mr. Ananda emphasized public speaking's importance, offering insights on overcoming stage fright and structuring effective speeches, including the significance of body language. Interactive workshops allowed attendees hands-on experience to build confidence in public speaking, body language, and facial expressions. A Q&A session by Mr. Ananda enriched the learning experience. The event was a resounding success, boosting participants' confidence in communication.

Invited talk by Mr. Srihari Gopinath

The interaction session with Mr. Srihari Gopinath, Senior Director of Marketing at HPE Aruba Networking, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Singapore & a distinguished alumnus, aimed to provide students with insights into future opportunities, artificial intelligence (AI), marketing trends, and his experiences, especially within Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), held on November 3, 2023.

The key discussion points of the talk are as follows Introduction: Srihari highlighted tech's role in enterprise. AI Impact: Discussion on AI's influence across industries. Marketing Trends: Insights into digital marketing strategies. Experience Share: Practical insights from 24 years in sales. HPE Strategies: Global strategies and digital marketing. Student Engagement: Active participation and career queries.

CSR B-School survey Results 2023

In the GHRDC-CSR B-School Survey 2023, SDMIMD is placed in 6th position among 16 Top Leading B-Schools of Super Excellence; 16th among 20 Top B-Schools under the category "Faculty, Publication, Research, Consultancy, MDP & Other Programmes"; 12th among 20 Top B-Schools under the category "Placement (Domestic & International), USP, Social Responsibility, Networking & Industry Interface" and 3rd among Top Private B-Schools in Karnataka.

FDP for MBA Faculty of GSSS

The MBA Faculty of GSSS Institute of Engineering & Technology for Women, Mysore, participated in a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in Management, held on October 30-31, 2023.

The faculty team from SDMIMD and GSSS inaugurated the program & faculty resource persons of SDMIMD conducted various sessions on different topics for a duration of 2 days, as mentioned below:

SDMIMD bags Prize in Dasara Flower Show Competition 2023

SDMIMD has won Prize (Outstanding) in Ornamental Plant Category in the recently held Dasara Flower Show Competition organized by Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka. SDMIMD has been winning prizes in Dasara Flower show Competition since 2004.

PhD awarded to SDMIMD Research scholars

SDMIMD is a recognized research center of the University of Mysuru and three research scholars from the center were awarded the Doctorate in a recently concluded 103rd Annual Convocation of the University of Mysore.

Rajeev Kalebar worked under the guidance of Dr. N R Parasuraman, Professor of Finance, SDMIMD and submitted a thesis titled Data Envelopment Analysis for Complementing Financial Ratios: Financial Statement Analysis of Indian Automobile Companies.

Nataraj R T successfully completed research titled Influence of Conflict Management and Leadership on Succession Planning: A study of Family Business in Karnataka under the guidance of Dr.Mousumi Sengupta, Professor of OB and HR, SDMIMD.

Vishwanantha M R received a doctorate for his research work titled Impact of E-learning on Higher Education in India: An Analytical Study under the guidance of Dr. H Gayathri, Rtd. Professor of Marketing, SDMIMD.
