Nodal Centre of BCIC at SDMIMD

Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) has set up nodal centres in Mysore and Dharwad in collaboration with SDMIMD.  The Nodal Centre in Mysore will be called the BCIC SDMIMD Centre for Excellence in Management Studies, and will focus on holding corporate programs, training sessions, workshops and leadership conclaves with the support of the corporate executives of the member Institutions of BCIC.  A similar centre is being set up in Dharwad called the BCIC Shri Dharmasthala University Centre for Excellence.

‘Efforts of industrial development and skill development should reach the tier II and III cities more effectively. I congratulate and appreciate the effort of the Bangalore Chambers of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) and Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara group for the initiative to establish the Nodal Centre at Mysore & Dharwad. I am sure such initiatives by BCIC to think beyond Bengaluru will help industries and skill enhancement among youths in other parts of the state’ said Hon’ble Minister for Large & Medium Scale Industries, Government of Karnataka Shri Jagadish Shettar, during the inauguration of Nodal Centre; and Centre for Management Excellence by BCIC SDMIMD on July 15, 2021, in Bangalore. 
 
Speaking on occasion, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala and Chairman of SDM Education Trust Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade Acknowledged the great work being carried out by BCIC and expressed hope that the collaboration with SDMIMD will bring forth new areas of exposure to students. He also expressed his joy at the collaboration being extended to Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University in Dharwad, where there are clear plans for focused growth in the years to come
 
Dr N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD, explained the context behind setting up the Nodal Centres. Given the international accreditation and tie-ups that SDMIMD has, this arrangement will bolster corporatisation and consultancy areas for the Institute apart from paving the way for focused research enabling smooth decision making.  He drew attention to the fact that BCIC has proven expertise in several areas of interest in management and these will be focused on by the Nodal Centres.
