Outbound Training (OBT) for the SDMIMD Faculty Team

SDMIMD Faculty Members have participated in a 2-day exciting, memorable, and adventurous Out-Bound Training program at Lead College of Management, Palakkad, Kerala between November 17th and 18th. Through daring activities such as rappelling, ziplining, and team tasks, faculty participants were able to overcome fears, improve communication, and foster teamwork. Rope exercises, shooting, and claiming a wall all aided in the development of adaptation, decision-making, and calmness under pressure. The program's mix of physical and emotional challenges encouraged personal development, while events like fire walking fostered mental resilience and self-confidence. Participation in strategic activities such as board climbing and simulated electric rings aided in the development of leadership abilities and open communication. Dr. Thomas, Founder & Director, of LEAD College of Management, Palakkad, and the SDMIMD Director and Faculty team discussed Management Education and future challenges in meeting the demands of students. Dr. L. Gandhi, Associate Professor of OB&HRM at SDMIMD, coordinated the OBT.

International Accreditation Leadership Award 2022

Dr N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD, was selected as the first awardee for the Olin Oedokoven International Accreditation Leadership Award instituted jointly by SEAA Trust and Peregrine. The Award recognizes the Indian Accreditation leader who has led more than one International Accreditation at their campus and has consistently displayed a passion for bringing in Global Benchmarks of Quality in Business Education.

Academic Library Award 2022

Dr Sunil M.V., Head – Academic Administration and Faculty, SDMIMD, won the Certificate of Excellence Academic Library Award 2022 by Knimbus, India. Knimbus bestowed the Award for the innovative service demonstrating the integration of institute intellectual output and the various resources with discovery tools in an Open-source eco-system. In the presence of Dr N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD, the certificate was hand-over by Mr Karthikeyan, Marketing-Head, Knimbus, to Dr Sunil on the campus.

Trained first as an appraiser and investment banker, Dr. Stephen ARO-GORDON is a distinguished senior lecturer in management studies and head of financial mathematics programme at the Faculty of Computing and Applied Sciences, Baze University Abuja Nigeria. He has done Master of Business Administration and also holds a doctoral degree from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Nigeria. He has been a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration, Member of Institute of Management Consultants, and he is currently a member of the International Association for Quantitative Finance, USA. He joined Baze University in 2014 after an intensive exposure at various conglomerate and investment banking corporate offices and teaching at top business schools and financial training institutions for many years. Alumnus of the Manchester Business School, England, his primary research interests are in the application of quantitative techniques to dealing with issues in corporate finance, strategic management, public administration, public policy, and human resource management. An established researcher on the convergence of real estate and capital markets, he has published many articles in his field over the last few years. A paper reviewer for five international journal editorial advisory boards, he has won many prizes and awards both as an academic and as a financial practitioner. Recognitions received for excellence include the Best-degree Graduating Student Awards, the Dean’s nominee for Best Doctoral Thesis, the Best Trainee Analyst and the prestigious Special Merit Award of the International Merchant Bank Plc (IMB), an erstwhile Nigerian investment banking subsidiary of the US-based JPMorgan Chase. He has also served as an expert at many international development projects including European Commission/International Finance Corporation/World Bank Group/Federal and State Government Ministries/ Departments/ Agencies, ExxonMobil, and other outreaches in Nigeria for many years. He has facilitated various management training programmes, and has been invited speaker / chaired the sessions in several international workshops and conferences worldwide as well. He enjoys working with people to provide and drive value for long-term success.
