SDMIMD Overall Champion in ELIXIR 2023

In the recent B school event, ELIXIR 2k23, conducted by School of Management Studies, Palakkad on 3rd March, 12 students from SDMIMD participated in various events and won prizes. Karumbaiah KK, first year student won Best Manager event. Marketing event was aced by SDMIMD team comprising of Sachin Kamath K, Pavan Kumar T, Chaitanya BN and Amith Kumar HL. HR Event was topped by HR: Sanjay K, Aravind S, Jayaprakash Naidu and Alen J David. Druva N and Yashas MD won the Business Quiz event. Since SDMIMD students won majority of the events, SDMIMD won the overall trophy.

Best Manager award in MANNOVEX for SDMIMD student

SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) student Mr. Alen Johnathen David emerged as the Best Manager in the MANNOVEX – the National Level Management Fest organized by JSS Center for Management Studies (JSS CMS), Mysore.

The performance of SDMIMD students in the 5 events – MARKOFEST (Marketing), FINATHMA (Finance), VYAPAAROTHSAVA (Business Plan), MANAV YUKTHI (HR) and BEST MANAGER - of MANNOVEX 2022 made them bag the 2nd Overall Team during the event held on August 25, 2022. Mr. Srihari H.G. and Mr. Sriram P. from PGDM 2022-2024 came 1st in FINATHMA the Finance event.

PGDM 2022-24 Batch students – Mr. Sachin Kamath K and Mr. Aditya Ravi in Markofest; Ms. Arundhuti Roy and Mr. Aniruddha R Batni in Finathma; Mr. Tushar Nag, Ms. Manaswini Achuthan and Mr. Bethe Jayaprakash Naidu in Vyapaarothsava; Mr. Rajat Shaha in Best Manager; and Mr. Muthanna C.M. and Mr. Chirag Madappa in Manav Yukthi – participation along with the winners enabled SDMIMD to secure 2nd Position in the Management Fest.

Recognition to SDMites Toastmasters Club

During the year 2020-2021 SDMIMD Toastmasters Club performance has won many accolades including - Spirit of 121 awards; the Super 7 Award; the Open House Citation Award; and the Rising Star Award.

To carry forward the success and the club activities for the year 2021-2022, the new Executive Committee was installed on July 7, 2021 in the presence of the Area Director DTM Kavita Prakash, and Division Director DTM Vaibhav Gupta, Faculty Mentos from SDMIMD Dr. Neetu Ganapathy and Dr. Srilakshminarayana.

The Executive Committee for the year 2021-2022 includes President -TM Nandha Kumar; VP Education - TM Bavithra K; VP Membership – TM Meghana; VP Public Relations – TM Chaithanya JK; Secretary - TM Kolachana Sai Sri Harsha; Treasurer – TM Soumya; and Sergeant at Arms- TM Ananya M Gowda.

Award to SDMIMD Toastmasters Club

SDMIMD Toastmaster club achieved the President's Distinguished Club award - the highest level of recognition. The club met the membership prerequisite and achieved nine of the 10 goals. SDMIMD Toastmasters Club is dedicated to Toastmasters International's purpose and vision, as well as the principles and ethics of the home institute, SDMIMD, which sets the club apart from other clubs

Participation in IRTM 2021 Conference

Ms. Shyamli Soundale of PGDM 2019-2021 participated and presented the paper 'Factors influencing customer satisfaction of wireless mobile services during the Covid-19 pandemic led lockdown' co-authored with the faculty members Dr. R. Sugant and Dr. G. Srilakshminarayana of SDMIMD, at the International Conference on Interdisciplinary Research in Technology and Management (IRTM 2021) organized by Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Kolkata and University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Kolkata during February 2021.

Telangana Govt Grants to SDMite Best Idea

Mr. Rahul Raj of PGDM 2020-2022 presented the idea at the National Social Summit on the theme of 'Social Entrepreneurship Competition' organized by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) - Roorkee. The idea presented by Mr. Rahul Raj was selected as one of the Best Top 4 Ideas in the Competition. Telangana State Government has recognized the Idea of Mr. Rahul and granted 1.6 Lakhs to build prototypes.

SDMite Khushboo Session for Mangalore Jail inmates

Our student, Toastmaster Khushboo Rani, VP Education - SDMIMD Toastmasters, had the privilege of taking an Educational Session on December 20, 2020 for the inmates of Mangalore District prison. This effort was part of Speechcraft-an initiative of Mangalore Toastmasters Club, which aims to uplift and educate the prison inmates and help them communicate effectively. This session saw active participation by other members of our club.

SDMite selected by CYL for India-Malta Cultural Confluence

Confederation of Young Leaders (CYL) with the rigorous process selected Mr. Sai Sri Harsha of PGDM 2020-2021 to participate in the India – Malta Cultural Confluence held on December 29, 2020, and to interact with H.E. Mr. Reuben Gauci, High Commissioner of the Republic of Malta. Mr. Harsha discussed the Diplomatic relations & trade activities between India and the Republic of Malta; India’s Support to Malta in getting independence from Britishers; and, promoting tourist attractions in India.
