Institutional research activity with foreign collaboration

SDMIMD has collaborated with BI Norwegian Business School researchers on an international research project on ‘Whistleblowing: an annotated global bibliography’. It is a core part of the AFINO – project, (Responsible Research and Innovation in Norway) work package 6, led by Dr. Kristian and Dr Heidi, supported by the Norwegian Research Council 2019-2024, focusing on topics related to CSR, corporate governance and whistleblowing.

SDMIMD research team, comprising of Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Professor - OB and HRM (Principal Contributor), Dr. Sunil M. V. Assistant Professor - General Management (Co-contributor) and Student contributors, Druva N, Taha Dhilawala, Yashwanth, and Kaydawala Saifuddin, has collaborated in the project and contributed Indian Bibliography on whistleblowing.

The aim of the research is to create a compilation of the various single language-based annotated bibliographies as well as to analyse the collected materials across all said bibliographies. Currently the project is consisting of 20 partners, from several countries.

The work completed by the SDMIMD team has been highly appreciated and the SDMIMD team has received an appreciation letter towards that effect.

CM Bommai Released a Report on Human Capital in Karnataka

The Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri. Basavaraj Bommai released a report on “Human Capital in Karnataka: An outlook of new age skill imperatives for the new age workforce” in a BCIC program held on 5th August, 2022 at Bangalore. Dr.C.N. Ashwathnarayan, Minister for Skill Development, Government of Karnataka was also present along with the Chief Minister while releasing the report.

This report was prepared by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore for Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC). SDMIMD’s BCIC Centre for Excellence at Mysore has the vision of accelerating the pace of industry-academia collaboration for the betterment of the society and the present report is towards fulfilling the Centre’s objectives.

This report was designed based on intensive research and interviews with several eminent industry leaders and academic experts.

The report assessed the present state of skill gap in Karnataka from the lens of seven specific industry verticals such as heavy industry, automobile manufacturing, hospitality, banking, financial services and insurance, IT and ITes, pharmaceutical and consultancy services. While analysing the skill gap, the study attempted to estimate the future need of new age skill sets and the potential of academic institutions to scale up to meet the skill requirements of the industry in Karnataka. The report also offers the frameworks and recommendations to the government, industry and academia for individual and joint actions on upskilling the youths with new age skills to make them employable and productive.

The Chief Minister and the Minister, after releasing the report in the presence of industry stalwarts, were appreciative of the report and assured policy actions based on the report and its recommendations. The program was attended by more than 300 industry leaders.

Dr.B.Venkatraja, Associate Professor of Economics, Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development, Mysore was the Lead Researcher for the report.

SDMIMD JoM: 10 Years in Scholarly Publication

Started in 2010, the stature of the SDMIMD Journal of Management (SDMIMD JoM) has risen in the Peer-Reviewed Scholarly Publication World. During the past decade, the journal which focuses on the realm of management has witnessed tremendous growth in the quality contributions of the researchers & academics. Further, the journal has gained rising readership and wider popularity and it is evident from the high Index Copernicus Value (ICV 2018) of the journal (95.57). Eventually, the SDMIMD JoM got indexed in EBSCO, J-Gate, i-Scholar, Copernicus, Cosmos and UGC list. Currently, the journal has applied for the UGC Care List. The journal also envisions to get enlisted in the Scopus and ABDC in the future.

SDMIMD is proud of the growth of the journal and visualises to make this one of the best journals in the area of management. SDMIMD and Editorial board of the JoM is grateful to the rich contributions of the Editorial Advisory Board, Reviewers, Authors, Readers and the Co-publisher of the journal M/s Informatics Publishing Limited, and all other stakeholders for the continued support in completing successfully 10 Years of Scholarly Publication journey.

About the Journal
	SDMIMD Journal of Management was started in the year 2010 and is published twice a year, in March and September. Both print and on-line versions are brought out. The journal invites articles with a focus on different management issues pertinent to the Indian economy and corporate sector. Articles dealing with international issues are also welcome. The primary focus of this journal, as the title suggests would be on a variety of issues in the area of management. SDMIMD attaches a lot of importance to issues like ethics, values and governance. Consequently we will encourage papers in these areas, with a concurrent focus on managerial issues. Service quality is another aspect of management that is of considerable interest to us. The Journal also publishes one or more book reviews and a case study in every issue. Read More>
Submission Guidelines
	Outlined below are the mandatory criteria for any article to be considered for publication in the SDMIMD Journal of Management. Failure to adhere to these criteria will result in rejection of the article by the editorial team. Article adheres to the manuscript preparation guidelines explained below Article should be in Microsoft Word format only Each article should be accompanied with a cover letter. For more details, refer the cover letter guidelines below. Articles should be written in single column format, using Times New Roman font, 12 point font size. Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. Equations and formula should be readable, preferably written using equation editing softwares (E.g. MathType). Alternatively, authors have to provide the fonts used for creating the equations/formulae. All figures provided should be of high resolution, preferably 300dpi References should follow the APA style of referencing, 6th edition. Read More>
