Case studies are a vital pedagogical tool that helps students analyze and apply theories in real business conditions. The international management education accreditation process greatly acknowledges the importance of case-based teaching. Also, business and management professors aspire to publish in international case repositories and are motivated to use them in their course delivery. Brief Profile of the Resource Person: Dr. B.Venkatraja
Dr.Venkatraja, with 19 years of academic and research experience, is working as an Associate Professor of Economics at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) Mysore. Presently, he is the Chairperson of the SDM Research Centre for Management Studies and serves as Editor in Chief of the SDMIMD Journal of Management.  Currently, he is a member of the editorial board and review board of several reputed journals. He has published several research papers in reputed national and international journals that are indexed and listed by the Australian Business School Deans’ Council (ABDC) Scopus & Web of Science. He has presented several papers at international conferences. His paper titled “Impact of Central Explicit Subsidies on Fiscal Deficit in India: An Empirical Study” won the Best Paper Award in the Fifth International Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance and Social Sciences organised by J.A. Alpha Business Research, Dubai in 2017. He has also worked on Applied Research projects funded by SDMIMD and Major Projects to Government and Corporate Bodies such as ANSSIRD & PR (Ministry of Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka) and Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, BCIC leading to policy suggestions.

SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) like to present the 2022 edition of Management Development Programs (MDPs). MDP 2022 is focused on changing demands in business and needs of professional executives. Workshop on Conducting Literature Review and Data Analysis in Medical Research

Medical research in one field of research which looks for new findings that helps the society at large. The vaccine for COVID is a best example, which has saved the world from the deadly virus. Researchers strive hard day and night to give the best results, which are more practical in nature. 
 
Among other aspects, data plays an important role in bringing out these results. Unlike in other research, large data sets may not be available, and researchers may have to reply on data sets of smaller sizes. Now, it is important for them to analyse the data appropriately using the right statistical method. Sometimes, the data needs to be collected from the existing literature and summarize the same to give out the results. This demands the conduct of literature review in a right way and sometimes demands the use of technology, and one must get trained in using the same. To achieve the needed expertise, the researcher must get trained in usage of a tool and one such tool which is handy for everyone is Excel and getting trained in using the same will make them independent in analysing the data. 
 
Taking these needs, we at SDMIMD have planned a two-day workshop in conduct of literature review using technology, usage of excel for data analysis and selection of the right statistical method for testing the hypotheses. It gives the participants a hands-on experience on conducting the literature review, collecting and analysing the data, and construction and testing of the hypothesis.

SDMIMD collaboration with TCS on Academic Enhancement

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Educational Partnership between SDMIMD and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in the presence of Chairman of SDMIMD Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, is scheduled on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 11:30 AM in the SDMIMD Auditorium situated in the Chamundi Hill Road Mysore.
 
The partnership envisages corporate professional inputs for eight select courses followed by an internship in an area of relevance to management. The educational partnership will offer Supplementary Study for the SDMIMD’s flagship program Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) students on TCSiON Platform. SDMIMD students will also undergo TCS's reputed National Qualifier Test (NQT) as part of the supplementary study.  Students will get a joint certificate issued by SDMIMD and TCSiON certifying the supplementary study experience.  This agreement is path-breaking in its potential to given enormous value add to students and in SDMIMD being able to leverage this association with a leading company of the stature of TCS.  The agreement is valid for 5 years.
 
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be exchanged by Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD and Sri. Ravindra Kembhavi, Head Sales and Chief Education Evangelist, TCS iON, in the presence of Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Chairman SDMIMD during this occasion.
 
The partnership is in line with the core vision of the New Education Policy 2020 for preparing the students for the real work scenario.

2nd Annual Convocation of the One-Year PGCM Program

The 2nd Annual Convocation of the One-Year Post Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) Program offered by SDMIMD, the premier Business School in Mysore, will be held on December 17, 2021, 10:30 AM at the institute campus situated at the foothill of Chamundi. 
 
The Chairman of SDMIMD, Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, will award certificates and deliver the convocation address. 
 
The PGCM program was launched during the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the institute in 2019 which is designed for industry readiness and professional growth in the corporate world.
 

International Partners Research Conference 2021

SDMIMD is partnering with the University of Dundee School of Business to jointly organize the International Partners Research Conference 2021 on 29 November 2021. The focus of this conference is on issues related to socio-economic development and submissions from all disciplines related to this overarching theme are welcome. The conference’s aim is to encourage research collaborations across the participating institutions and between individual researchers.
